Naturally one of the best parts of the plant unit is actually planting some seeds and watching them grow!
I always give kids a choice between planting sunflowers or corn. Weird options, right? But they (a) grow quickly, (b) have very clearly different sprouts and (c) are really neat! Sunflowers get so huge and corn genuinely gives you little ears of corn!
So long as you care for the plants as they grow, of course.
This year, WalMart had the greenhouses on sale for $4.47! I am pretty sure I paid like $20 last year at Lowe's.
